St Mary's for Children

Come and join in the fun!

We are open on Fridays from 9.45 a.m. to 11.15 a.m. in the Parish Centre. Families enjoy making new friends in a relaxed atmosphere, while their children play safely. Ladies from St. Mary’s Mothers’ Union serve refreshments during the morning for both adults and children.

We have regular Toddler activities - summer outings, Christmas parties and various visitors selling their wares (books, children’s clothes, crafts etc.).

Although we may have a waiting list for a regular weekly place, do feel free to drop in and check us out on either Monday or Friday mornings. You can be sure of a warm welcome.

If you venture along to church any Thursday afternoon during term-time at 2.00 p.m. you will discover our short, lively, interactive service for the under-fives. There is no need to worry if your child does not want to sit still for very long as we are always on the move. The children love going into the bell tower to ring the church bell. They help to light the candles, play percussion instruments, enjoy action songs and listen to a Bible story, which is usually told with the aid of a teddy or two. There are refreshments afterwards for those who can stay and there is still plenty of time to get to all the local schools in time to collect older brothers and sisters.

Come and join us. We are a friendly bunch and you will be very welcome any time. All you need is a child under five - your own, a friend’s, a neighbour’s, a relative’s - bring them along to Pram & Toddler Praise! It’s great fun!
