Baptism
Children resident in the parish
Children resident in the parish of Cuddington are usually baptised on
the last Sunday of the month at 3.00pm. Parents must attend a Baptism
Preparation meeting with the Vicar usually held at 8.00pm in the
Leverton Room on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Baptisms can also be
held during morning service at 10.00am by arrangement with the Vicar.
To book a baptism please contact the Parish Office.
Children resident outside the parish
Children resident outside the parish cannot normally be baptised at St
Mary's and parents should ask for baptism at their local parish church.
However, the Vicar will baptise the first child of parents for whom he has
conducted their wedding service. If the parents subsequently become
members of the congregation and join the Electoral Roll subsequent
children can also be baptised here. If there is no further meaningful
contact with St Mary's then subsequent children must always be
baptised in their local parish church.
Adults
Adults thinking about baptism should contact the Vicar directly. Adult
baptism follows a short course of preparation lasting 8-10 weeks. Both
adult baptism and confirmation are administered at the same service by
one of our bishops.
For further information contact the Parish Office and we will send you a
copy of our booklet 'Getting Baptised at St Mary's'.
