Weddings

To get married at St Mary's one of the parties must be resident within the parish of Cuddington. (Note: Worcester Park is a postal area covering parts of three boroughs! If you pay your Council Tax to either Kingston or Sutton then you don't live in the parish and cannot get married at St Mary's.) The parish of Cuddington lies within the borough of Epsom & Ewell. If you think you live in the parish contact the Parish Office and we'll send you a copy of our booklet 'Getting Married At St Mary's'.

We take Marriage Preparation very seriously at St Mary's and want to give couples the best possible help not only with their wedding day but also with their marriage as well. To that end all couples attend a Marriage Preparation Day held on a Saturday in either February or May. They then meet the Vicar for up to two hours to prepare their service. Then there will be a rehearsal for all the principals usually on the Thursday before the wedding.

Remarriage of Divorced Persons

The Church of England allows in some circumstances a marriage of a divorced person in church while the former spouse is still living. Normally couples who are not members of the congregation would be offered a service of Thanksgiving after a Civil Marriage. At St Mary's we follow the pastoral guidelines laid down by the Diocese of Guildford. If you contact the Parish Office then we will gladly send you a copy. If you then want to take the matter further you will need to arrange to see the Vicar.
